As a child, whenever I’d make new friends, I’d come home to tell my mother all about them. She would listen, while ironing clothes, or helping me with homework. Once I was done, she’d ask their last names, to mentally figure out their castes. Probably to tell me to get closer or stay away from them. Only, she never did!
“I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” ~ Groucho Marx My inspiration to write comes from reading, travelling, and meeting people. Ever since I was a child, I liked to immerse myself in pages written by others. As they say, you should never leave your childhood habits. They make you stand out of the crowd. I am glad I found comfort in books, at times more than in people. From comics, to dictionaries, to accounting and business studies. And now, fiction novels.
Warning: Angry Post. Background: In April 2015, MakeMyTrip.com ran a travel contest called ‘#DiscoverTurkey’ in a question-answer game format and in May 2015, three winners were declared, including me. http://www.discoverturkey.in/ In case they have disabled the link, here’s a screenshot. I received an e-mail on 13th May saying this: “You’ve won an international trip courtesy MakeMyTrip. This mail is just to ensure that you know you’re an officially declared winner. Someone from our team will be in touch with you shortly with your trip details.”
